H. E. Justin Kareem Hawley is a career diplomat from Saint Kitts and Nevis with extensive
experience in international relations, multilateral diplomacy and trade policy who currently serves as the Ambassador of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the United Arab Emirates.
Prior to his assumption of this role, in 2016, Ambassador Hawley was appointed to serve as Consul General in the Consulate of Saint Kitts and Nevis in Dubai.
Earlier in his diplomatic career, he was posted to the Permanent Mission of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the Organization of American States (OAS) where, for two years, he served as a Counsellor and Alternate Representative. In this capacity, he worked to strengthen relations between the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis and the United States, negotiate international resolutions, promote investment opportunities, and represent the Federation at OAS General Assemblies and the Summit of the Americas. He was eventually called to act as Chargé d’Affaires and Interim Representative of the same office – maintaining close engagement with the U. S. State Department and Capitol Hill and advising the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on bilateral and multilateral issues of significance to the Federation.
In his spare time, Ambassador Hawley is a devoted supporter of the Arsenal Football Club as well as a history enthusiast who particularly enjoys exploring the connections between Africa and the West Indies.
