Dr. Marcus L Natta is a distinguished scholar, visionary leader, and dedicated public servant whose expertise bridges science, governance, and global diplomacy. A graduate of Cameron University, where he earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics and Mathematics, he further honed his academic prowess with a Ph.D. in Chemical and Materials Engineering from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. His pioneering research, published in leading international journals, has shaped innovations in sustainability and materials science, earning him invitations to present at prestigious global fora.

Currently serving as Cabinet Secretary of the Federal Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Natta is the foremost senior civil servant advising the Prime Minister and Cabinet on governance, policy, and strategic decision-making. Renowned for his ability to harmonize cross-governmental operations, he drives evidence-based policy design and public engagement to advance national priorities. Previously, as Science and Research Manager at the St. Kitts and Nevis Bureau of Standards, he led transformative projects in chemicals & waste management, renewable energy and quality assurance, cementing the Federation’s reputation as a sustainability leader.

A respected voice in international diplomacy, Dr. Natta has represented St. Kitts and Nevis with distinction at the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States– Geneva Mission, and served two elected terms as Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean under the Stockholm Convention. His strategic acumen in environmental policy and trade has amplified the region’s influence on critical global platforms.

Beyond governance, Dr. Natta is a tireless advocate for community empowerment. He co-founded the William Marcus Natta Memorial Scholarship Fund, which for over 15 years has unlocked academic opportunities for youth pursuing civic and scholarly excellence. His philanthropic leadership extends to roles as Vice President & PRO of the Essence of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, active membership in Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., and service as a Rotarian, championing health, education, and social equity.
